TITLE: School-based Site Lead (Part-time, Wage)
EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Horizon Club
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Operations
COMPENSATION: (Starting) $17.00-19.00 /Hour Salaried DOE, Part-time benefits HOURS: 27.5 hours /Week (Mon-Fri from 1:00-6:30 p.m.)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Manages overall daily operations of a satellite site under the control of the organization with a primary concern for the comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery, supervision of direct-report staff, personnel issues, management of the facility, actively engage and support the partnerships for the satellite site and community relations. Typically manages less than five staff on a budget of under $100,000 annually.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Leadership

  1. Establish Site programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success and create a Club environment that facilitates achievement of youth development outcomes.
  2. Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained.
  3. Contributes to the creation of the overall Club climate for youth development and a positive workplace.

Strategic Planning

  1. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the site’s overall programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests. Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation.
  2. Provides leadership, direction, and problem-solving in regards to guidance & discipline of Club members and is the final decision maker on member discipline and communication with parents.
  3. Establishes a program setting that ensures the health and safety of members.
  4. Adhere to all policies and procedures established by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County.

Resource Management

      8. Assists Assistant Director of Operations with payroll and program budget.

  1. Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club. Ensure compliance with organization policies.
  2. In conjunction with the Assistant Director of Operations, recruit, hire, train, manage, ensure accountability, and provide career development opportunities for site staff and volunteers. Conduct regular staff meetings and annual performance reviews.

Partnership Development

11. Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders, and organizations working closely with school personnel to ensure a strong collaborative culture.

Marketing and Public Relations

12. Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services, and activities within the Club and the community.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Purchase or approve the purchase of supplies and equipment.
  2. Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments.
  3. Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.
  4. May drive Club vehicles to transport youth to/from special events.
  5. Assume other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Facility Personnel (in a school or leased space), Staff, Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret
Guidelines/instructions, instruct, and advise/counsel.
External: Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, members, parents, and others to assist in resolving problems.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED:

  •   A minimum of two years’ work experience in a Boys or Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
  •   Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  •   Ability to utilize time management skills to prioritize tasks and complete deadlines while maintaining a balanced schedule.
  •   Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
  •   Ability to work with diverse personalities and expectations.
  •   Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
  •   Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid instructor certifications
